CORSICA FANTASTIC FEST #CORFF
CORSICA FANTASTIC FEST #CORFF
The Corsica Fantastic Fest #CORFF is the first and only festival dedicated to genre films in Corsica. It presents a selection of independent feature-length and short films, showcasing a new generation of artists and thrilling local audiences.
A UNIQUE FESTIVAL
The festival program features horror, thriller, science fiction, and fantasy films, aiming to show movies that are strange, disturbing, or frightening. There are two competitions: one for feature films with two awards, and one for short films with the Best Short Film Award. The festival also screens films outside the competitions. All selected films are shown during the event in a chosen theatre in Corsica.
our awards
Feature films in competition can win both the Jury Prize and the Audience Award, while short films in competition compete for the Best Short Film Award.
The Jury, made of local journalists or filmmakers, also has the option to give special mentions.
The Theodore Prize is separate: it is awarded at the start of the festival to the opening film, which is not part of the main competition but receives a prize from the Festival President.
JURY PRIZE
The Jury selects the film that has achieved unanimous approval among the entire panel and awards its director the highly prestigious Grand Prize of the festival. The Jury may also grant an “Honorable Mention” to another film.
AUDIENCE AWARD
At the end of each screening, the audience is invited to give a rating out of 5 by placing it in a small box at the exit of the theater. The film with the highest score is logically awarded the Audience Award.
best short
While deciding which feature film will receive the Grand Prize, the Jury also chooses the short film it enjoyed the most and awards it the Best Short Film Prize.
THEODORE PRIZE
The Théodore Prize is known as "the King’s Choice." It is awarded to a film that is not competing in the other categories, but its director is honored—not by the Jury, but by the Festival President. The selected film is also the festival’s opening film.
